Background:

Around cars...

Growing up with access to a large junk yard. He drove and worked to get junk cars running before his 10th birthday. The junkyard owner's son was his best friend, and the father ran quarter mile circle tracks modifieds. David was enlisted to hand port and polish heads of a variety of engines for these cars. As a reward, he was allowed to take some of these cars around the track, reinforcing his passion to build and drive!

Cars now a hobby...

As Founder and President of several computer companies, David was able to buy and restore a number of cars. with one classic muscle car being a 1968 Buick GS400 Convertible bought in the 1980's. Since selling all of those cars; a 1949 Ford Business mans Coupe, 1949 Ford Convertible, 1970 Chevy Convertible, his passion for cars has grown even more.

In July of 2008...

David bought his first Dodge Hemi. It was a new limited edition 2008 Challenger SRT8.Number 2401 of 6400. Realizing the potential of this new platform, he immediately, formed New Hemi Racing Group LLC to participate in the effort to improve and maximize this new and exciting engine and platform. Then, when the new Challenger Drag Pak was announced, an order for this very limited production car was immediately placed with his favorite dealer. In time, when purchase applications were actually accepted by Dodge, his was the first application sent.

David is thrilled with being one of the select few chosen to be able to receive a Drag Pak car and plans to campaign the car along with his son throughout the 2010 season.

Christopher Joins...

Unfortunately, in August 2010, Christopher was the victim of smoke inhalation due to a house fire. He is greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him in drag racing.

David's son, Christopher, joins the effort in July of 2008. As a child, Christpher could make any engine run, and run goooooood. Starting on Lawn mower engines and Motorcycles, which he still loves, Chris graduated to building engines for friends. When New Hemi Racing was formed, there was no doubt that he would become the Head Engineer, and many of the new products are his concepts. We will post some pictures of the monster engines built so far.. And he is prety good with a paint gun as "Hemicidal Maniac" will shortly attest.

Christopher was working in the Information Technology arena as a Lead Technical Architect and the transition into racing was something of a welcome change. He has concentrated on the application of advanced engine technology to the New Hemi scene.
